Airport Services - HVAC-R Facilities Technician - DFW Airport; Non-Terminal

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and installation of refrigeration, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation and plumbing applications.
• Install, maintain, and repair package units, split systems, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain light commercial rooftop units, boilers, controls, and other mechanical equipment.
• Conduct brazing, soldering, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication.
• Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and service motors, pumps, compressors, ducts, and controls.
• Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines and training requirements.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• HVAC Universal Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 3 years of related HVAC, VRF systems, and Electrical maintenance and repair experience in a commercial facility.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Availability to work day or night shift including weekends and holidays.
• Experience in airport operations (preferred).
• Understanding of Johnson Control Systems (preferred).
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications (preferred).

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces; ladder work required.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50pounds.
• Work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and confined areas of baggage conveyor systems.
• Specific vision abilities: good close‑proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus; good hand–eye coordination.

• Similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, vibration, and loud noise.
• Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircraft and around heavy equipment.
