Position: Experienced Mobile Auto and Diesel Technician – Dallas, TX

Pay: $35.00 per hour. Weekly pay with performance incentive.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with customers, manage accounts, deliver preventative maintenance, resolve repairs, and discuss repair estimates.
  • Coordinate work schedules as required by customers.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose complaints, ensure repair quality, and deliver customer satisfaction.
  • Perform extensive preventive maintenance and repairs on automotive and diesel engines, including:
    • A/C & heater operation and checks
    • Brakes-air & hydraulic inspections and repairs
    • Cargo handling, transfer, and liftgate operation
    • Charging systems, clutches, cooling, and cranking system maintenance
    • Lighting system, drive axles, drivetrain, and fuel system repairs
    • Steering, non‑driven axle, suspension, chassis, cab, and tire/wheel maintenance
    • Vehicle coupling system (PM) maintenance
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation; maintain safety, environmental, and regulatory records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and mentor SM II level personnel.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or certification (preferred).
  • Basic tools and willingness to drive Ryder vehicles.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience repairing automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repairs.
  • Two (2) or more years of mechanical repair and diagnostics experience on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment.
  • Valid commercial driver licence (CDL) Class A or Class E (preferred); other state licences as required.
  • Strong customer service, account management, and communication skills.
  • Self‑starter, highly organized, capable of multitasking, and able to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Readiness to complete required company training and OEM certification courses within specified time frames.
  • Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background check.
