About the Role

Our HVAC Technicians support the installation, start‑up, troubleshooting, and service of commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, VAVs, pumps, fans, and specialty equipment. Technicians progress through levels based on skill, independence, troubleshooting ability, and leadership.

HVAC Technician I (Entry Level)

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with installation of HVAC equipment, ductwork, supports, and piping
  • Perform basic tasks such as mounting units, running flex, and pulling cable
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools safely
  • Read simple mechanical drawings and labels
  • Maintain clean work areas and follow all safety procedures
  • 0 - 1 year experience
  • Have basic mechanical aptitude
  • Are reliable, safety‑focused, and eager to learn
  • Want a long‑term career path in HVAC
HVAC Technician II

What You’ll Do:

  • Independently install commercial HVAC equipment and accessories
  • Perform start‑ups on RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, fans, and pumps
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Verify proper installation, airflow, and equipment operation
  • Complete installation documentation and start‑up forms
  • Assist in training Technician I team members
  • 1 - 3 years experience
  • Have solid HVAC mechanical knowledge
  • Can troubleshoot basic electrical/mechanical issues
  • Work independently and manage daily tasks confidently
HVAC Technician III

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead installation and start‑up of complex HVAC systems
  • Diagnose advanced mechanical, electrical, and airflow issues
  • Perform full functional testing and verify system performance
  • Work closely with controls technicians to verify BAS sequences
  • Review drawings, submittals, and specifications
  • Mentor Technician I and II employees
  • Complete detailed start‑up documentation and deficiency lists
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams, project managers, and engineers
  • 3 - 7 years experience
  • Have advanced HVAC diagnostic skills
  • Understand airflow, refrigeration, electrical systems, and BAS interaction
  • Can lead teams and manage field tasks
  • Communicate clearly and document work thoroughly
Requirements
  • EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills
