What You Will Do
As a Plumbing Service Technician, your primary duties include:
- Install, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing systems—including piping, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and backflow prevention devices—in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on plumbing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing system malfunctions, identifying potential problems to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
- Conduct thorough inspections of plumbing systems to identify deficiencies, inefficiencies, and potential areas for improvement.
- Provide detailed repair estimates and recommendations to commercial clients, and communicate effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with building managers, facility owners, and other stakeholders to schedule service appointments and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Maintain a clean and fully stocked service vehicle; participate in periodic inventory and truck inspections.
- Keep accurate records of all service calls, including parts used, labor hours, and equipment history.
- Stay current on industry standards, codes, regulations, and emerging technologies related to plumbing systems.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use all tools in a safety-conscious manner.
Full-time position. Occasional extended hours and weekends may apply.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel at least 60 miles a day, depending on project location. Long‑distance travel, including overnight stays, may be required occasionally.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Plumbing Service Technician or equivalent position providing similar work experience.
PreferredEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
Eligibility Qualifications- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of all plumbing system components, including national and local plumbing codes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex plumbing issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in various environments.
Successful completion of pre‑employment screening, including but not limited to drug and background screening, is required for this position.
