Parts Runner
Position Overview
The Parts Runner is responsible for supporting shop and field operations by delivering parts, tools, equipment, and materials to job sites throughout the DFW Metroplex. This role helps minimize equipment downtime by ensuring mechanics and field crews receive the supplies they need safely, accurately, and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver parts, tools, materials, and equipment between vendors, the shop, warehouses, and job sites.
- Coordinate with mechanics, shop personnel, and field supervisors to prioritize deliveries.
- Verify parts and materials against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
- Load, unload, and secure parts and equipment for safe transportation.
- Maintain an organized parts room and assist with stocking inventory.
- Inspect company vehicles daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and receipts.
- Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and transportation procedures.
- Assist mechanics and shop personnel with general shop support as needed.
- Perform other construction- and shop-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and travel throughout the DFW Metroplex.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment, tools, or heavy equipment parts is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, mechanics, and field personnel.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
