Heavy Equipment Operator

About this role Experienced heavy equipment operators needed for construction and earthmoving projects across Dallas, Texas. You'll run excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and other machines to move material, shape grades and prepare sites for paving and utilities. This is hands-on field work on public and private construction sites. Expect full days on location, project-based schedules, possible overtime and occasional weekend work depending on project timelines.

Reliable attendance, safe operation, and straightforward mechanical know-how are key to success in this role.

What you'll do Operate excavators, dozers, motor graders, loaders, skid steers and other heavy equipment to perform excavation, grading, trenching and site prep Follow site plans, grade stakes and supervisor directions to meet required elevations and tolerances

Load and unload material, position dump trucks, scrapers and trailers safely on site Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting (fluids, filters, lights, tracks/tires)
Maintain clean, secure work areas, keep accurate equipment and work logs, and report defects or safety issues

Communicate with foremen, surveyors and crew members to coordinate lifts, grades and traffic control as needed

What we're looking for Minimum 2-3 years operating heavy construction equipment on civil or industrial projects

Proven ability with excavator, loader, dozer and motor grader operation; experience with paving equipment and scrapers a plus Hands-on knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine maintenance, powertrain and transmission basics

Able to read basic site plans, grade stakes and use measuring tools to establish grades

Comfortable working outdoors in Texas weather and on variable terrain; reliable transportation to job sites

Willingness to comply with site safety rules, drug testing and background checks as required

Qualifications

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordCDL Class A preferred where applicable; CDL Class B or passenger endorsement a plus Equipment operator certification (NCCER, trade school diploma or documented on-the-job training) preferred OSHA 10-hour (or OSHA 30) safety card preferred; site-specific safety orientation required

Able to read English-language work orders and site plans;
Spanish language skills are a plus Capable of passing pre-employment drug screen and background check upon offer
