Position SummaryThe Civil Technician plays a critical role in supporting TCE’s telecom construction projects, including new tower builds, modifications, and site development. This hands‑on position is responsible for ground preparation, concrete work, trenching, conduit installation, grounding, and general site cleanup.
Civil Technicians work closely with Tower, Electrical, and RF teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with TCE’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the installation and construction of tower foundations, shelters, and site compounds
- Operate hand and power tools, skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, and other construction equipment
- Perform concrete forming, pouring, and finishing
- Install conduit, grounding systems, rebar cages, and fencing as directed
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following TCE safety procedures and OSHA standards
- Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to complete daily tasks safely and efficiently
- Travel to job sites throughout Texas and neighboring states as required; overnight stays may be necessary
- Promptly report equipment issues, safety hazards, or site concerns to the Civil Foreman
- Experience:
1–3 years of general construction or civil telecom experience preferred - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Certifications:
OSHA 10 required or ability to obtain;
First Aid/CPR and CDL are a plus - Skills:
- Basic understanding of concrete work, grading, and underground utilities
- Ability to read site plans and follow construction drawings
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to safely operate light and heavy construction equipment
- Willingness and ability to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
