** Key Responsibilities
*** Perform a wide range of independently managed maintenance and repair work on facilities, systems, and structures (i.e., replacement of hardware, light fixtures, baseboards, molding, appliances, etc.)
* Assemble, install or repair plumbing fixtures and maintain bathroom fixtures (i.e., showers, toilets, faucets, water supply and drain lines, etc.)
* Replace HVAC air filters, maintain air vents and thermostats
* Replace electrical switches, circuit breakers, outlets, light fixtures, and electrical appliances under supervision of DHA’s Master Electrician
* Prepare vacant housing units for occupancy; including repair, cleaning, and interior painting and general maintenance, etc.
* Repair or replace doors, door hardware, locks, cabinets, windows, flooring, roofing, pipe systems and more
* Diagnose mechanical problems and find solutions###
** Knowledge and Skills for Success
** A successful maintenance technician has...
* A strong knowledge of materials, procedures and methods used to perform general building and maintenance according to industry standards while following safety procedures
* The ability to organize and plan a sequence of tasks necessary to complete job assignments effectively
* Experience in the use of various hand tools, work aids and equipment to complete the required work###

* Associate degree in a technical vocational program
* Must have a Texas Driver’s License
* Two (2) years of building maintenance, plumbing, cleaning and maintenance experience
* Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
