UT Southwestern is actively seeking a skilled Maintenance Foreman to lead our Carpentry Shop
. We are looking for someone with a minimum of three (3) years journeyman level experience in multiple skilled trades (such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) preferably in healthcare/hospital environments, proven leadership and mentorship experience, a comprehensive background in commercial carpentry, and a deep commitment to maintaining institutional safety standards

As Maintenance Foreman of Carpentry Shop, you will supervise a team of carpenters, manage work orders, and oversee the repair, maintenance, and structural modifications including drywall finishing of facility interiors.
Works under general supervision to supervise work crew responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds for UT Southwestern Medical Center. Responsible for directing work of crew while personally performing work as member of crew in one of following areas:
Preventative Maintenance or Mechanical Services.
Dallas Campus; may or may not require travel to and from other UTSW locations.
Shift RequirementMonday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; overtime as approved by senior leader.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required- Education
- High School Diploma, vocational school, or GED.
- Experience
- 3 years skilled or journeyman level experience in assigned area.
- Licenses and Certifications
- (DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE Must possess valid State of Texas Driver's License.
- Experience
- Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Assists assigned crew members in resolving work related problems and questions.
- Confers with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, customers, and co-workers to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
- Examines objects, system, or facilities such as HVAC or utility systems and analyzes information, to determine installation, service, or repair needed.
- Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as employment, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Requisition s materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for work activities.
- Trains workers in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and work aids, such as drawings, hand tools, and test equipment.
