Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Position SummarySuite Mate Staffing Solutions is seeking a dependable and motivated Mechanic I to support the maintenance and repair of off-road heavy equipment for a municipal operation. This position is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience maintaining construction or heavy equipment and who enjoys hands‑on mechanical work.
The Mechanic I performs preventive maintenance, fueling, lubrication, inspections, and minor mechanical repairs to ensure heavy equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
- Perform preventive maintenance on off-road heavy equipment.
- Fuel and lubricate equipment according to maintenance schedules.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
- Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, and mechanical issues.
- Change engine oil, filters, hydraulic fluids, and other lubricants.
- Grease fittings and inspect moving components.
- Assist in diagnosing basic diesel, hydraulic, and mechanical problems.
- Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report major repair needs to supervisors.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Other heavy construction equipment
- 1–2 years of experience maintaining off-road heavy equipment.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance schedules and work orders.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Experience working on municipal or construction equipment.
- Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
- Valid Texas Driver License preferred.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
. - Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks while servicing heavy equipment.
