Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Tech II - $34.25 plus $1 shift differential (6:45pm-7am)

Maintenance Tech III - $37.75 plus $1 shift differential (7pm-7am)

This role focuses on maintaining production lines and ensuring consistent product quality by keeping machinery and mechanical equipment in optimal operating condition. You will serve as a key maintenance resource on your shift, using your mechanical and electrical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and improve industrial and manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production lines and support consistent product quality by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions by following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment to restore equipment to proper working condition.
  • Test, locate, and repair issues in electrical circuits and equipment, including performing electronic equipment repair and troubleshooting.
  • Repair and replace broken or defective parts, including electrical motors, components, wiring, and other electrical devices.
  • Apply knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and electronic equipment.
  • Perform installation, relocation, and disassembly of machinery and equipment as needed to support production requirements.
  • Control downtime by communicating routine preventive maintenance requirements to production workers and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to safety procedures and best practices.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage multiple competing demands, and respond calmly and logically to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Utilize hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair related equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams to diagnose and correct equipment issues.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks on industrial machinery.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, including the application of Lean Daily Management principles where applicable.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skill set, including experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting industrial equipment, including identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and disassembly of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to test, locate, and repair problems in electrical circuits and equipment, including motors, wiring, and electronic components.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance practices in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Comfort working as one of the primary maintenance resources on a shift, with a high degree of independence and responsibility.
  • Strong adaptability to frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events while maintaining a calm and logical approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles is preferred.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance experience.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Experience working with PVC or plastic processing equipment is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, machine shop tools, and general industrial maintenance equipment.
