Professional Home Inspector – JLL

What this job involves: JLL is seeking a Professional Home Inspector to join our Public Institutions group. In this role, you will conduct residential home inspections across Army installations throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe as part of a collaborative inspection team. The position supports JLL’s mission of helping public sector organizations optimize and manage real property assets through high-quality property assessments and reporting.

Perform residential home inspections using proprietary reporting software on a tablet or mobile electronic device. Conduct interior and exterior visual evaluations in accordance with project-specific inspection criteria. Assess property deficiencies including site conditions, building materials, structural components, and health and safety concerns. Evaluate building systems and equipment for age, condition, and functionality. Capture and document photographic evidence of equipment tags, building features, and inspection observations.

Communicate professionally and clearly with on-site managers, tenants, and project stakeholders. Travel extensively to Army installations, including multi-week assignments requiring travel by car and occasionally by air.

• InterNACHI Certified Home Inspector or Licensed Home Inspector in one or more of the following states:
  Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, or Washington.
• Working knowledge of current building codes and their applicability to residential home inspections.
• United States citizenship required.
• Ability to pass Army military base security vetting, background check, and drug screening.
• Valid Real r’s license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively use a tablet or iPad in the field for inspection reporting.

• Minimum of two years of experience performing residential home inspections.
• Experience conducting inspections within government, military, or institutional environments.
• Familiarity with identifying structural, safety, and environmental deficiencies in residential properties.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inspections independently while supporting a larger project team.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and travel schedules.
• Experience documenting findings through detailed written reports and photography.
• Comfortable working in a physically active environment including climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.

The role is classified as home office/remote but requires 100% travel. Employees will travel continuously to military installations and may work in the United States, Asia, and Europe, including Japan.

Work Shift:

Standard work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though weekend travel may occur and is eligible for overtime pay.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Expected compensation for this position: 72,800.00 – 93,600.00 USD per year. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
