The Opportunity

Are you an experienced electrical field service professional looking to work on mission-critical power systems? We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support a major project in Texas
, with opportunities for nationwide travel. This hands‑on role offers the chance to work with advanced power distribution, switch gear, and control systems while partnering directly with customers to ensure critical infrastructure operates safely and reliably.

• Lead the start-up, testing, commissioning, and validation of low- and medium-voltage switch gear and automatic transfer switch (ATS) systems.
• Perform site assessments, equipment installation, maintenance, and service activities on power distribution, automation, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain paralleling switch gear, ATS equipment, control systems, and related mechanical components.
• Support commissioning, upgrade, and modernisation projects, ensuring systems meet operational requirements before customer handoff.
• Complete field projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and performance standards.
• Collaborate with field service teams, engineering teams, and customers to deliver exceptional service and technical support.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, service reports, and expense records.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support to customers and internal teams.
• Assist with technical training and quality review activities as needed.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on power distribution and control equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switch gear, and related electrical or automation equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and industry codes, including NFPA, CSA, and UL requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, mobile devices, and digital reporting tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% based on business and customer requirements.

• NETA or NICET (ETT Level II or higher) certification in electrical equipment testing.
• OSHA 30-Hour, MSHA, and NFPA 70E training.
• Experience commissioning low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling switch gear.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including switch gear, ATS equipment, generators, and circuit breakers.
• Experience with protective relaying, PLCs, HMIs, metering, and industrial control systems.
