BAS Controls Technician

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will vary based on your experience and technical level.

• Install, start up, test and service Building Automation Systems

• Assist with or independently perform DDC system commissioning

• Troubleshoot HVAC controls, sensors, controllers and related equipment

• Read wiring diagrams, control drawings, mechanical plans and project documentation

• Download, configure and update controller software

• Test, calibrate and adjust building automation equipment

• Verify system operation according to project requirements and control sequences

• Create or modify BAS graphics, databases and controller configurations

• Document completed work, system changes and commissioning results

• Communicate project progress, field conditions and technical concerns

Compensation and job level will be based on the depth of your experience.

• Independent BAS or DDC installation

• BAS programming and sequence development

• System commissioning and functional testing

• Advanced HVAC controls troubleshooting

• BACnet, Modbus or Lon Works

• Niagara or Tridium

• Distech Controls

• Siemens or comparable BAS platforms

• Front-end graphics development

• Controller and database configuration

• Commercial chillers, boilers, air handlers and VAV systems

• IP networking and system integration
