THE OPPORTUNITY

Phoenix Residential is a trauma‑informed residential facility serving youth with emotional and behavioral challenges in Ellis County. We operate with fidelity to the Trust‑Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) model — because we believe relationships are the foundation of healing.

As Treatment Director, you won't just oversee documentation — you'll shape how care is actually delivered. You'll lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, champion TBRI practices across the facility, and be a grounding, consistent presence for the young people we serve. This is a role for a seasoned clinical leader who wants real influence over treatment quality, not just administrative oversight.

WHAT SETS THIS ROLE APART
  • Mission‑driven model:
Every clinical decision is grounded in TBRI — a research‑based framework, not a compliance checkbox.
  • Genuine leadership authority:
You'll own clinical programming, not just report on it.
  • Collaborative team:
You'll work alongside therapists, nurses, physicians, and direct‑care staff who are invested in doing this work well.
  • Meaningful work:
The youth we serve have experienced significant trauma. Your clinical leadership directly shapes their trajectory.
WHAT YOU'LL LEAD Clinical Programming & Model Fidelity
  • Direct the day‑to‑day clinical quality of all treatment program components in compliance with DFPS Minimum Standards.
  • Champion and sustain TBRI implementation — providing staff training, coaching, and ongoing fidelity monitoring.
  • Participate in clinical decision‑making as a core treatment team member across interdisciplinary collaboration.
Team & Professional Supervision
  • Supervise contracted clinical professionals including therapists, physicians, and registered nurses.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, supporting staff capacity to deliver trauma‑informed care.
Individualized Youth Care
  • Conduct admission assessments and determine appropriate levels of care for each child.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized service plans tailored to each youth's strengths and needs.
  • Review medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to physician orders.
SCHEDULE

This is a full‑time, on‑site position (40 hrs/week). Because we serve youth around the clock, the role requires reasonable schedule flexibility — occasional evenings, some weekend availability, and rotated holiday coverage shared across the leadership team. Scheduling is coordinated in advance.

CREDENTIALS & QUALIFICATIONS

Per DFPS standards, candidates must meet one of the following credential pathways:

  • A) Psychiatrist or Licensed Psychologist.
    No additional experience requirement.
  • B) Master's Degree in a Human Services Field.
3 years of experience providing treatment to children with emotional disorders, including at least 1 year in a residential childcare setting.
  • C) LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
3 years of experience providing treatment to children with emotional disorders, including at least 1 year in a residential childcare setting.
  • D) Registered Nurse (RN).
With relevant experience in behavioral health or residential youth care.
  • All Candidates Must Also Bring
    • Demonstrated experience in trauma‑informed care; TBRI training or certification strongly preferred.
    • Proven leadership in a clinical or residential behavioral health setting.
    • Strong communication and crisis‑intervention skills with the ability to remain grounded under pressure.
    • Collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to pass FBI fingerprinting and a pre‑employment drug screen.
    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$75,000 – $95,000 base salary. Salary is determined by licensure, credentials, and experience, and is discussed transparently during the interview process.

    • Professional Development – Ongoing training & licensure support.
