Position Summary:
Provide healing-centered therapy and support services to children and families affected by domestic violence, using evidence-based interventions to help survivors process trauma and build resilience. In this counseling role, you'll conduct crisis assessments and safety planning, deliver individual and group counseling using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and other therapeutic modalities, facilitate psycho-education groups and parenting classes, and engage non-offending caregivers in treatment to strengthen family healing.
Support clients through the legal process by attending court hearings, collaborating with case managers and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services & Therapeutic Interventions Deliver in-person individual and group counseling sessions using TF-CBT or other therapeutic interventions based on client needs.
Facilitate in-person psycho-education groups for clients.
Facilitate in-person parenting classes to support healthy family dynamics.
Proactively engage non-offending caregivers in treatment to promote enhanced attachment, decreased symptoms, and improved safety for children.
Assist with adult intakes and counseling to ensure all clients are served in a timely manner.
Assessment & Safety Planning Receive and assess intake calls from clients to determine immediate safety and crisis needs.
Conduct in-person intake assessments to establish safety plans, identify case management needs, advocacy needs, and readiness for therapeutic services.
Client Support & Advocacy Support clients by attending court hearings as needed.
Collaborate with case managers and maintain ongoing communication with Program Director(s).Participate in scheduled individual client staffing meetings, team meetings, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Documentation & Compliance Maintain case files and client notes promptly by entering treatment plans, case notes, telephone consultations, and referrals into the Clients First database.
Ensure weekly utilization rate meets or exceeds agency standards (50% or more).Provide reports and accurate statistical information promptly.
Comply with the therapy program policies and procedures manual.
Professional Development & Community Engagement Maintain current licensure, certifications, and group affiliations.
Participate in training programs, seminars, and workshops to update professional knowledge.
Attend agency-related domestic violence and ethics trainings.
Represent The Family Place and participate in community education, speaking engagements, and educational opportunities as requested.
Other Duties:
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience (paid or non-paid) in a shelter or clinical setting working with victims of domestic violence.
Licenses and
Certifications:
LPC-Associate or LMSW with secured Clinical Supervision.
Working on clinical hours, but less than 3000
Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of domestic violence, child abuse, cultural diversity, and diverse socioeconomic levels of clients
Knowledge and experience working with victims of trauma.
Knowledge of the power and control wheel
Experienced in the area of domestic violence, child abuse, trauma, or related issues
Experience with individual counseling, group counseling, or play therapy
Experienced at relating to others through understanding, respect, and skilled communication.
