Summary / Key Qualifications

Responsible for managing and coordinating the SNAP program activities and deliverables for the grant. This person will oversee the outreach efforts, the Application Assisters, reporting, assessments and coordinate outreach activities with partner organizations as well as several school districts in the targeted areas.

The Project Manager will be responsible for identifying eligible clients and assisting in completing the SNAP application as well as identifying locations in the community to provide this service. Requires the ability to function independently and exercise discretion within the policies of the Community Council of Greater Dallas (CCGD), and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program regulations and in accordance with the laws and regulations from Health and Human Services.

  • Keep informed on laws, regulations, and standards, under the provision of funds received from the Department of Health and Human Services
  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to ensure information is available to the public on SNAP benefits.
  • Responsible to coordinate and supervise activities under this program
  • Responsible for the supervision of the program activities and for completing all required reports mandated by the funder
  • Identify eligible clients and providing SNAP application and renewal assistance in English and Spanish.
  • Complete 14 days and 45 days follow up calls to clients who have been assisted with applications
  • Responsible for referring families to appropriate internal resources
  • Perform and coordinate outreach and educational events, such as health fairs, presentations, parent events, faith-based organizations events and school events
  • Make group presentations to educate consumers about the benefits of SNAP
  • Complete all required certifications and training required federally, by state and/or locally to assist clients with SNAP applications.

  • Ability to effectively communicate information, orally and/in writing
  • Respond to questions in English and a second language if applicable
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to work independently and make good decisions out in the field with minimum supervision
Certifications and Licenses Required
  • Texas driver’s license or alternate means of transportation
  • Certification for the SNAP program as required by the funder or if applicable state and federal laws
