Position: General Adoption Recruiter (Dallas)

The General Adoption Recruiter will connect children who are waiting for permanent homes with families who wish to adopt by implementing and coordinating effective recruitment, matching and support services. This position will submit and update child profiles to the Texas Adoption Resource Exchange (TARE) and review all inquiries that are received.

Responsibilities
  • Support/Service Delivery
    • Work in partnership with agency staff to register children on TARE if no family has been identified by no later than 60 days from Termination of Parental Rights.
    • Work with agency staff in keeping profiles and photographs updated.
    • Coordinate, host, and facilitate selection staffing’s with DFPS, CASA, ad litem, and guardian ad litem.
    • Provide recommended home studies to staffing participants prior to the selection staffing for review.
    • Present recommended adoptive homes for a child/youth to all parties.
    • Send official notification to all parties by email confirming the decision made during the staffing and approving the plan to proceed with the selected family, if one was identified.
    • Notify DFPS when the prospective family notifies Texas Family Care Network they agree to proceed with the adoption process.
    • Coordinate hosting and facilitating the Presentation Staffing.
    • Follow up with the potential adoptive family regarding their decision to adopt after the Presentation Staffing has been conducted.
    • Learn the background of the family and child/youth on each case to strategize how best to support them.
    • Follow up on inquiries to get more information when needed.
    • Follow up with families from any inquiries received via TARE or other means within 3 business days.
    • Completes broadcast flyers to be sent out for recruitment.
    • Participates in on-call rotation and duties by responding to on-call notifications and phone calls accordingly.
    • Effectively uses Outlook Calendar as instructed by supervisor/director to reflect daily and weekly tasks
    • Independently assess and prioritize tasks to manage time.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or director

  • Documentation
    • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of data entered into systems, ensure that all relevant information exists in their records (e.g. client, family, employee, billing, etc.).
    • Completes appropriate forms and documentation concerning client contact including data entry into CoBris, IMPACT and other technology/case management systems.
    • Checks the TARE website regularly for inquiries on children and sends attached home studies to the case management team.
