Primary PurposeThe Immigrant Family & Community Liaison provides supplemental, Title III, Part A Immigrant funded support that connects newcomer and Multilingual families with the resources and services needed to thrive in their new school community. This individual supports the Multilingual Compliance Manager with vendor partnerships, cultivating relationships, and executing events. This individual collaborates closely with the Multilingual Compliance Manager and MLP leadership team to support the development and execution of Title III, Part A family and community engagement events and leads the district Title III parent engagement group.
They also serve as a primary point of contact for newcomer families, helping them navigate enrollment, school systems, and available community resources, and ensure that all services provided are properly documented to support Title III, Part A Immigrant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Supports vendor partnerships in conjunction with the Multilingual Compliance Manager, attending events and supporting logistics as defined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
- Coordinates referral pathways between campuses, vendors, and newcomer families to ensure timely connection to services
- Monitors and documents partnership activities and outcomes to support Title III, Part A Immigrant compliance reporting
- Collaborates with the Multilingual Compliance Manager and MLP team to plan and support the execution of Title III, Part A family and community engagement events (Event times will vary and include evenings and/or weekends throughout the year).
- Coordinates event logistics, including translation/interpretation needs, transportation, and family-facing communications.
- Supports development of event materials and resources for newcomer and immigrant families
- Coordinates quarterly Parent Liaison Engagement Group meetings designed to increase participation and engagement among multilingual families in district wide Title III activities.
- Facilitates connections between newcomer families and community organizations that provide educational, legal, health, and social support services.
- Provides orientation and outreach support to help newcomer families navigate the U.S. educational system and Uplift's enrollment process.
- Responds to newcomer family inquiries and concerns, escalating as needed to the appropriate Multilingual Compliance Coordinator or Manager.
- Maintains accurate, timely documentation to support Title III, Part A Immigrant program monitoring and compliance reporting.
- Collaborates with the Multilingual team as needed & reports progress to the Multilingual Compliance Manager.
- Travels to and works from assigned campuses within the DFW metroplex and/or CMO, as needed.
- Complies with all Board policies, administrative regulations, district procedures, and the Uplift Code of Conduct.
- Maintains confidentiality of student, family, and employee information in accordance with applicable federal, state, and district requirements.
