API Developer

We are looking for an experienced API Developer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing APIs to support both web and mobile applications. The role includes collaborating with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance API solutions.

Responsibility:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Architects on non-functional requirements
• Triage and resolve technical issues escalated by development teams
• Work with stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement technical solutions
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and represent technical considerations
• Define and document specifications for APIs and SOAP services
• Write production-quality code following standard API and integration patterns in CI/CD environments
• Perform quality assurance activities including unit, functional, and non-functional testing
• Evaluate new tools/frameworks and test features
• Collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality product delivery
• Adhere to Agile methodology throughout the development process
• Ensure robust API security and authentication mechanisms
• Monitor and troubleshoot API performance issues
• Conduct code reviews and provide performance enhancement recommendations
• Maintain effective documentation for internal and external API users
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in API development

• 8+ years of experience in API Development
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Proficiency in API design, development, and maintenance for web and mobile applications
• Strong collaboration with frontend and backend teams to define API requirements
• Expertise in API security and authentication mechanisms
• Experience with Stratus Mainframe/Unix (preferred)
• Strong testing skills for unit, functional, and non-functional testing
• Experience in Agile project environments
• Proficient in code reviews and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve API issues efficiently
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Exposure to SOAP services
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and automated deployment
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for API performance
