Software Engineer, DevOps

Position Summary

About the team:
Our team develops robust, scalable software solutions across TV, mobile, and cloud platforms, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will help shape the technology roadmap and advance Walmart's mission to deliver value and quality  team applies expertise in software development, solution design, Dev Ops, and testing to build reliable products that meet business and technical requirements.

• Work with two small teams of engineers leading the delivery of features and components through collaboration with engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives.
• Integrate Al/ML components and leverage generative Al tools to enhance the software quality.
• Participate in root cause and test escape analysis to insure fewer future defects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Monitor application performance, support CI/CD pipelines, and drive continuous improvement in software delivery and reliability.
• Mentor peers, share knowledge, and promote engineering excellence within the team.

• Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong emphasis on embedded systems.
• Experience leading small teams to deliver features and components on time with high quality in a very competitive environment.
• Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as Python and C++.
• Strong understanding of the Matter open standard protocol for smart home technology. Experience developing Matter Controller/Hubs for home smart devices and communicating with matter enabled smart devices.
• Strong expertise in building embedded software system.
• Proven ability to deliver test automation through collaboration with engineering teams.
• Skilled in code review, debugging, and continuous integration/deployment processes.
• Experience integrating Al/ML components and leveraging generative Al tools to enhance code quality.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
