Role

Summary:

We are seeking an Engineer I to join a technology engineering team and contribute to the development, support, and enhancement of systems, applications, or platforms. This role focuses on the independent delivery of low to medium complexity work while continuing to build technical skills, domain knowledge, and familiarity with engineering standards.

An Engineer I works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to implement solutions, resolve issues, and deliver reliable technology outcomes. This role follows established practices and seeks guidance as needed while progressing toward increased technical independence.

• Design and develop enterprise-level, high-volume web application platforms and state-of-the-art technical solutions leveraging Java and JEE platform technologies.
• Responsible for designing solutions, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting Java-based components and interfaces.
• Participate in design discussions and solution design sessions with product management and software development teams.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to the evaluation, prototyping and selection of software solutions.
• Apply Test Driven Development practices and software quality measurement tools.
• Coordinate with various teams such as Quality Assurance, Dev Ops, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to ensure a stable development environment.
• Scope & Complexity:
  Work on an engineering team delivering independent support, capabilities, and features of low to medium complexity.
• Engineer individual system or application components with oversight.
• Apply existing patterns, standards, and architectural guidance rather than defining new approaches.
• Develop domain and proprietary knowledge through experience and coaching.

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing in Java technologies with equivalent experience in systems analysis, object-oriented design, and debugging skills.
• 2+ years of experience in technology stack including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Gradle, Microservices Architecture, REST, Java 1.8.
• Experience with No
  
  SQL (Cassandra) or SQL (Oracle).
• Experience with build and deployment using Git, Stash, Jenkins, etc.
• eCommerce experience (Retail) – nice to have.
• Experience working with Agile/scrum teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication within a technical team.
• Ability to manage assigned work independently while seeking guidance when needed.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and incorporate feedback into daily work.
