Position Overview
Software Engineer at PNC’s C&IB organization, based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. This role focuses on building and sustaining test automation and quality processes to support complex banking software deployments.
Key Responsibilities- Define, develop, implement, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation strategies.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using QFaaS, Karate, and BDD tools such as Cucumber.
- Execute functional, regression, system integration, end‑to‑end, and accessibility tests.
- Collaborate with developers, QEs, and POs to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
- Create and maintain test strategies, test cases, and test result documentation.
- Track and report quality metrics, including defect density, test coverage, and execution status using JIRA, X‑Ray, and Confluence.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Mentor QA team members and provide technical guidance.
- Promote best practices in Agile, Dev Ops, and test‑driven development (BDD/TDD).
- Assess and manage risks in alignment with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Proficiency in Java or JavaScript for automation scripting.
- Experience with Selenium, JUnit, Karate, Cucumber, and TestNG.
- Hands‑on experience with Intelli
J IDE. - Proficiency using version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
- Familiarity with JIRA for bug tracking and reporting.
- Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in both manual and automated testing environments.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques.
- University or college degree with at least 2+ years of relevant professional experience, or a comparable combination of education, certification, and experience.
- Proficiency in application design, architecture, and testing.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Experience with software release and lifecycle management.
