Software Engineer Lead; Java Full Stack Developer

Position Overview

As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC’s Commercial & Institutional Banking (C&IB) organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. Your responsibilities include creating and leading technical design and development of software solutions, proposing and designing solutions to address complex business needs, preparing technical documentation, facilitating complex problem resolution, providing technical guidance and support to colleagues, reviewing code and testing, and applying modern principles and tools to advance business initiatives.

• Strong proficiency in Java with hands‑on experience in Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, and microservices
• Solid understanding of software architecture, microservices, and event‑driven design patterns
• Experience designing and developing solutions using core Java, SQL (MySQL), Active
  
  MQ, and Kafka
• Hands‑on expertise in authentication & authorization systems, API frameworks (REST, Graph
  
  QL), and persistence stores
• Proficiency in database design and optimization, including relational (SQL) and No
  
  SQL databases

• Experience with Elastic‑Search and Redis
• Knowledge of performance tuning, application security, and scalability best practices
• Experience with SAFe and modern software development methodologies
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks such as React
• Experience with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Open Shift, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Bitbucket and Jenkins
• Experience using Intelli
  
  J, Gradle, and writing JUnit test cases

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required; in lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience may be considered
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience in software engineering roles
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to provide technical guidance
