geniant is at the forefront of AI innovation, building cutting‑edge platforms that empower our clients to leverage the full potential of artificial intelligence. Join a dynamic team where your contributions directly shape the future of AI. We are looking for a Senior Design Technologist to use AI to combine the critical crafts of digital design and software engineering.
The RoleThe Senior Design Technologist is a creative coder, a systems thinker, and a product innovator who uses their deep expertise in both design and front‑end development to bring our user experiences to life through high‑fidelity, interactive prototypes, and to build and maintain the foundations of our design system. As a senior member of the team, you will not only execute complex projects but also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and influence the strategic direction of our user interface technology and design practices.
Position Responsibilities:- Architect Design Systems: Co‑own the architecture, development, and documentation of our clients’ design system. Build and maintain a robust library of reusable UI components, design tokens, and accessibility standards.
- Bridge Design and Engineering: Serve as a key liaison between the design and engineering teams. Work with Forward Deployed Engineers and System Architects to understand our clients’ challenges and then use that knowledge to design solutions. Design and create dynamic, responsive experiences and ensure pixel‑perfect implementation and technical feasibility.
- Technical Strategy & R&D: Research and champion emerging technologies, interaction patterns, and front‑end best practices. Influence our front‑end architecture and tooling to improve quality, performance, and engineer experience.
- Enhance Tooling and Workflow: Develop custom AI tools, plugins (e.g., for Figma), and “starter kits” that streamline the design and development process, increasing team velocity and consistency.
- Champion Quality and Accessibility: Advocate for and implement best practices for web accessibility (WCAG), performance, and responsive design across all our digital products.
- Mentor and Lead: Guide and mentor designers on the possibilities and constraints of web technologies. Advise engineers on the nuances of UI implementation and interaction design.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role, such as Front‑End Developer (not just vibe coding experience), design systems, and other design frameworks. Concepts of reusability and consistency are important.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio is required. It must showcase your work through live examples, case studies, or code repositories that demonstrate both your design sensibility and technical proficiency in creating high‑fidelity, coded prototypes and design systems.
- Design Tool Mastery: High proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
- Systems Thinking: Demonstrated experience in building or contributing significantly to a design system.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and design ideas to diverse audiences.
- Client Communication: Able to champion the product and communicate clearly with the client at all levels.
- Able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Experience with Type Script.
- Knowledge of animation libraries and techniques (GSAP, Framer Motion, CSS Animations).
- Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js.
- Familiarity with WebGL/Three.js for 3D web experiences.
- Experience building plugins or scripts for design tools (e.g., Figma plugins).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern front‑end build tools (Vite, Webpack).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
