Position: Software Engineer Development.NET-C

Overview

Concentra is a leading occupational health care company with a mission to improve the health of America’s workforce. This role is for a Software Engineer III specializing in .NET-C#.

You will design, develop, and maintain robust software applications; gather requirements with cross-functional teams; write clean, scalable code; conduct code reviews; mentor junior engineers; troubleshoot and optimize performance; and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications using .NET-C# and related code bases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design software solutions that meet business requirements and integrate with existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug existing applications to enhance performance and user experience.
  • Implement coding best practices with meaningful variable names, consistent formatting, and comprehensive comments.
  • Review code written by peers, provide constructive feedback, ensure adherence to coding standards, and identify potential bugs or performance issues using automated analysis tools.
  • Engage with product managers, designers, and QA teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and align on project goals.
  • Participate in stand-up meetings and sprint planning to discuss progress and blockers.
  • Develop, test, and maintain C# applications with emphasis on unit testing and code reviews.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve software defects in .NET-C# applications, document issues and solutions for future reference, and coordinate with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Analyze existing code to identify bottlenecks, apply performance tuning techniques, and conduct load testing to ensure efficiency under various conditions.
  • Lead collaborative design sessions to refine software architecture in line with project requirements and best practices.
  • Contribute to design documents and technical specifications guiding development efforts.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers through code reviews and sharing best practices in .NET/C# development.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through pair programming and assist in troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Continuously integrate and deliver code changes while adhering to Agile principles.
  • Proficient in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development or technical analysis experience.
  • Strong understanding of C# and object-oriented programming; experience with .NET-Core and building web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Entity Framework, LINQ, database migrations, and model configuration.
  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs using C#, with knowledge of HTTP methods, status codes, API security, and documentation.
  • Experience with SQL Server databases, including writing complex queries and performance optimization.
