Position
Description:
CGI is seeking a Sr. Java Back-End Engineer to design and deliver cloud-native solutions for investment operations. The role involves collaborating with product owners, architects, and developers to shape technical strategy and build enterprise-grade systems that support critical financial workflows.
- Design and build robust, scalable solutions aligned with enterprise technology standards and cloud-first strategies.
- Lead technical design discussions and influence architectural decisions that improve performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business needs into high-performing software solutions.
- Guide and mentor developers, ensuring engineering excellence through code reviews, testing best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Dev Ops teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, and deployment automation.
- Contribute to process optimization and delivery velocity through agile practices and engineering leadership.
- 10+ years of Java/J2EE development experience, with deep expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and multi-layered enterprise applications.
- Strong command of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and practices (Git Hub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Git strategies).
- Solid understanding of relational databases (DB2, Oracle), SQL, and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).
- Experience resolving complex technical challenges across distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments.
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and elevating engineering teams.
- Experience in financial services, particularly investment operations, NAV, or fund accounting systems.
- Familiarity with alternative investments such as derivatives, private equity, or liquid alternatives.
- Exposure to tools like Sonar Qube, Service Now, and HP Operations Orchestration.
- Agile delivery experience and a track record of driving process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
