Role Overview

As a Senior Automation Engineer in Infrastructure, Platforms, and Operations, you will be accountable for developing automations and enabling self-service for infrastructure engagements. This role is part of a new, critical initiative to automate the majority of the infrastructure, with a project duration of over two years. This position requires United States citizenship and candidates must be able to work EST hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in multiple service automation engagements to automate high-priority tasks, services, and end-to-end workflows.
• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Ansible, including playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows for complex, secure environments.
• Execute the full software development lifecycle for automation projects, from requirements gathering through deployment, maintenance, and support.
• Create advanced automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Power Shell to address complex business requirements and develop custom tools.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using modern frameworks like FastAPI or Flask to orchestrate automation workflows and implement integration patterns.
• Build and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with CI/CD pipelines and version control best practices.
• Collaborate within Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks with cross-functional teams.
• Implement secure coding practices and ensure all automation solutions comply with enterprise security policies.
• Document solutions, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical support for automations and troubleshoot production issues.
• Work independently with minimal guidance to complete assigned automation tasks in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

7+ years of extensive experience in the end-to-end enterprise software development life cycle, including automation, maintenance, and support. Crucial integration experience is required.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Ansible expertise, with proven experience developing playbooks, roles, and modules.
• Strong scripting proficiency with Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
• Expertise in building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, Windows, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation orchestration platforms such as Service Now or ARIA is a plus.
• Working experience in Agile and Scaled Agile environments.
• Knowledge of secure coding standards and experience in a banking environment is a plus.
