Senior Forward Deployed Engineer; FDE

Compensation: $165,000 Base + Commission ($210,000 - $250,000 OTE
)

We are not looking for a backend developer who wants to hide behind a terminal. We are searching for an elite, business-minded Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) with strong pre-sales DNA to act as the technical tip of the spear for our client's high-growth Spatial Intelligence & Industrial AI platform.

Our client is building real‑time spatial intelligence layer for the physical world. What they actually do is ingest live video and sensor feeds from existing security camera networks in massive industrial environments.

This is a commission‑incentivized engineering role designed for a highly technical Python backend expert who loves winning deals, deploying bleeding‑edge tech, and directly sharing in the financial upside. You will own complex Proof of Concepts (POCs) from soup to nuts, face off with enterprise technical champions, and ensure our platform delivers undeniable business value.

• Drive Enterprise Deployments: Partner with client‑side technical champions to scope, integrate, and stand up our Spatial AI platform.
• Own the POC Lifecycle: Lead technical proof of concepts independently, managing multiple integration projects on tight timelines.
• Write Production‑Grade Code: Maintain a high standard of backend architecture (predominantly Python) and robust enterprise API integrations.
• Communicate with Pre‑Sales Polish: Confidently manage product boundaries, manage client expectations, and articulate technical value with commercial credibility.

• Short, Impactful Trips: Typical client site visits are highly targeted and last only 1 to 2 days per trip.
• Opportunity‑Driven: Travel is dictated by active sales and deployment milestones. You might be home for several weeks straight, followed by a busy week with back‑to‑back onsite visits.

• Backend Core: 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep, professional Python expertise.
• Upside‑Driven Mindset: Motivated by an OTE‑driven comp plan where your technical execution directly impacts your commission.
• Geographic Flexibility: Located near a major U.S. airport hub with the ability to travel up to 40%.
• U.S. Citizenship: Required due to the security/compliance requirements of our enterprise customer sites.

• Pre‑Sales / Client‑Facing DNA: Prior experience in a Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Pre‑Sales, or Forward Deployed role.
