We are seeking a highly skilled Python/PySpark Data Engineer with AI experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and intelligent data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, Apache Spark, cloud data technologies, data engineering best practices, and the integration of AI/ML capabilities into enterprise data pipelines.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX is $95k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The

Role Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Build reliable ETL/ELT workflows for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Develop data processing solutions using Apache Spark, Spark SQL, and Data Frames.
  • Integrate data from APIs, databases, files, streaming platforms, and cloud services.
  • Implement data quality, validation, monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks.
  • Optimize Spark jobs, SQL queries, storage formats, partitioning, and cluster performance.
  • Develop and manage data lakehouse solutions using technologies such as Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Hudi.
  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into data platforms and business workflows.
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Embedding generation and vector search
  • Document processing and data enrichment
  • LLM-powered analytics and automation
  • Feature engineering and model input pipelines
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in data engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong programming experience in Python.
  • Hands-on expertise with PySpark, Apache Spark, Spark SQL, and distributed data processing.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational and analytical databases.
  • Experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
