Amida Technology Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineering (QE) Automation Engineer
. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain robust automation test suites using industry standards. This role will report to the program manager. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights. The candidate must be willing and able to work 3-4 days per week at our client's site in downtown Dallas, TX.

• Build and maintain automated UI test suites using Selenium (or an equivalent framework such as Playwright or Cypress), covering critical user journeys across supported browsers
• Build and maintain robotic process automation (RPA) workflows using UiPath or equivalent RPA platforms to support test execution and repetitive validation tasks
• Perform accessibility testing using Deque axe (or equivalent tooling) to validate Section 508 and WCAG compliance across web applications
• Manage test cases, execution results, and defect tracking in Jira with Xray, and maintain test documentation and process standards in Confluence
• Design and extend API-level test coverage with REST Assured or comparable tooling, including contract, negative-path, and data-driven scenarios
• Own the regression suite end-to-end (scope, structure, execution cadence, and runtime) and keep it fast enough to run on every pull request
• Integrate test execution into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops), including parallelization, containerized test environments, and quality gates that block bad builds
• Triage failures and drive flake to zero: root-cause instability, fix or quarantine unreliable tests, and report on suite health with real metrics
• Publish clear test results and coverage reporting that developers and product stakeholders actually use
• Review application code and test code alike, and advocate for testability in design discussions before features are built
• Contribute to test data management, environment setup, and reusable automation libraries that other engineers can build upon
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement quality engineering/assurance standards and processes

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline

• At least three years of professional experience building automated UI, API, and regression test suites for production software
• Demonstrated experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enforcing quality gates
• Hands-on experience with UiPath or another RPA platform for automating repetitive test and validation workflows

• Proficiency with Jira and Xray for test case management, execution tracking, and defect logging
• Hands-on proficiency with Selenium, REST Assured (HTTP, REST, JSON), or equivalent automation frameworks with the ability to stand up a suite from scratch, not just extend an existing one
• Strong programming skills in at least one language commonly used for test automation (Java, Python, JavaScript/Type Script, or C#)
• Comfort with Git-based workflows, code review, and treating test code as production code
• Ability to debug failures across the stack (e.g., application logs, network traffic, database state) and communicate findings precisely
• Excellent understanding of software quality assurance principles and practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Working knowledge of Confluence for test documentation and process standards
• Experience with Deque axe or equivalent tooling for Section 508/WCAG accessibility testing
• Experience with performance or load testing (JMeter, k6, Gatling)
• Exposure to containerized or cloud-hosted test infrastructure (Browser Stack, Sauce Labs, Selenium Grid)
• Background in a regulated or high-availability environment where release quality carries real consequences
• Prior work on federal, state, or local government programs
