Progress Open Edge Developer

As a Progress Open Edge Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Progress Open Edge technologies. You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned to business needs.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/Open Edge
• Build and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrations
• Develop object-oriented Open Edge solutions leveraging modern design practices
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide ongoing support

What you need to have to be considered:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Progress Open Edge development
• Proficiency in Progress Open Edge (11.7 & 12.2), 4GL, PASOE, App Server, and GUI programming
• Proven experience with object-oriented programming in Open Edge
• Hands-on experience building web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrations
• Strong experience with performance tuning, debugging, and application optimization
• Deliver high-quality Open Edge application development across the full SDLC
• Drive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSON
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability
• Provide production support and resolve complex technical issues
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

These will help you stand out:

• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web technologies
• Experience  Open Client development
• Knowledge of Claims domain
• Experience with API programming
• Familiarity with SVN and SQL
• Extend solutions to modern web-based integrations
• Support hybrid architectures  interoperability
• Bring domain expertise to accelerate delivery in claims-based environments
• Strengthen API-driven architectures
• Improve development efficiency using version control and database best practices

Work model:
Hybrid preferred

Salary and Other Compensation:

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
