Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: on-Site, Dallas, TX

Employment Type: Contract (3-6 months)

Compensation: $60-$75/hr

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll lead technical projects independently while driving software development activities from requirements through design, implementation, integration, and maintenance. You'll develop embedded software, PC tools, utilities, and networking/communications protocols while influencing system architecture, hardware compatibility, and component selection. You'll also collaborate with users to define requirements, create technical documentation, and ensure robust, reliable system performance.

  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, and subsystems.
  • Review customer specifications and requirements and develop cost-effective designs that meet technical objectives.
  • Apply design-to-cost and design-for-manufacturing principles throughout the development process.
  • Develop prototypes to identify and mitigate key development risks.
  • Use computer-aided engineering and design/analysis tools to support technical assignments.
  • Manage assigned tasks independently, providing regular progress updates and ensuring timely completion of technical requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers while supporting organizational mission, values, and culture.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering technical field
  • 3+ years of real time embedded SW experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux and bare-metal implementation of embedded systems
  • 3+ years of experience with embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, SPI, PCIe), preferably on Linux
  • 3+ years of experience with development experience in C or C++ (3+ years)

What Sets You Apart:

  • Solid understanding of multi-threading/multi-processing, concepts, implementations, and debugging techniques
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Experience in initial hardware start-up and troubleshooting techniques
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience developing PCIe drivers in Linux.
  • Ability to update existing communications protocol specified in JSON.
  • Familiar with real time video concepts and how to test video performance requirements.
  • Capable of integrating hardware and software and developing test plans and procedures
  • Lead and direct the work of others as assigned
  • Experience with modern software development processes, including software configuration management tools, static analysis tools, defect tracking tools, peer review, and agile development life cycles.
