** Job Summary
**** Job Description
**** Overview
* * The Lifeguard provides for patron safety and first aid in coordination with aquatics safety personnel by enforcing park and pool rules and recognizing and responding to aquatic incidents during normal operations. Work is done seasonally.
** Essential Functions
*** Provides daily swimmer surveillance from guard stand or pool deck, cautions swimmers of rule violations to enforce pool safety; identifies and performs the appropriate protocols for distressed patrons within 10 seconds.
* Conducts and participates appropriate emergency and rescue techniques daily.
* Administers first aid to waterpark patrons daily; properly administers CPR and First Aid as required.
* Reports injuries, accidents, and assistance rendered to patrons and document each occurrence daily.
* Assists and performs daily cleaning and closing duties.
* Dispatch, guard, and facilitates slides in absence of Waterpark Attendant staff.
* Assist with pre-season operational and maintenance tasks.
* Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
** Knowledge and Skills
*** Knowledge of Lifeguarding and first aid skills.
* Knowledge of pool safety and City policies.
* Knowledge of water park rules for operation.
* Ability to identify distressed persons.
* Ability to handle emergency situations quickly and effectively,
* Ability to swim, run, walk, stand, and perform a wide range of physical abilities.
* Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
* Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
** Experience
* * None.
** Licenses and Certifications
** Lifeguard certification required before fulfilling lifeguard specific responsibilities.
** Salary Range**$21.50 - $21.78
