The Warehouse Supervisor – Pick, Pack & Shipping oversees daily order fulfillment and outbound shipping operations, including pick and pack activities and shipping via Full Truckload (FTL), Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), and small parcel carriers. This role provides direct oversight of Shipping Leads and Shipping Clerks to ensure shipments are accurate, on time, and compliant with company and carrier requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise pick and pack operations to ensure accuracy, productivity, and on-time order fulfillment
- Provide direct oversight, direction, and performance management of Shipping Leads and Shipping Clerks
- Coordinate outbound shipping activities for FTL, LTL, and small parcel shipments
- Assign daily tasks and priorities to shipping staff and leads
- Manage dock schedules, carrier pickups, and shipment sequencing
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, palletizing, and load securement
- Review and approve shipping documentation including BOLs, packing lists, and carrier labels
- Oversee staging, loading, sealing, and release of outbound shipments
- Monitor labor utilization and adjust staffing to meet shipping deadlines
- Train, coach, and develop shipping team members on procedures and best practices
- Enforce safety regulations, SOPs, and DOT-compliant loading practices
- Investigate and resolve shipping errors, damages, and customer issues
- Utilize WMS, TMS, and carrier systems for shipment execution and tracking
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across fulfillment and shipping functions
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); degree preferred
- 3+ years of warehouse experience with emphasis on pick/pack and outbound shipping
- Previous supervisory experience, including oversight of leads or clerical staff
- Strong knowledge of FTL, LTL, and small parcel shipping processes
- Experience with WMS, TMS, and carrier platforms
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work on warehouse floor and shipping docks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain
- Warehouse or distribution center setting
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Overtime and flexible scheduling may be required
