Director of Transportation

We’re seeking a strong people leader to join a large, high-volume distribution operation as the Director of Transportation
. This role oversees a team of 90+ Class A CDL drivers.

• Lead, coach, and develop the transportation team
• Ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations
• Conduct yard visits, address driver questions and concerns about routes, loads, and schedules
• Drive CI in routing, cost control, and driver engagement
• Collaborate with leadership to uphold one of the best safety programs in the industry

✅ Large team of Supervisors & 90+ Drivers

✅ Monday–Friday schedule, ~45–50 hours per week

• Experienced people leader with a track record of developing drivers into leaders
• 5+ years in transportation management
• Strong knowledge of routing, cost improvement, and DOT compliance
• Critical thinker who can educate drivers on efficient practices while maintaining strong culture and safety standards
• Comfortable with technology and TMS platforms (Samsara experience a plus)
• Class A CDL background preferred
