We are currently looking for a Driver Manager with recruitment/training and onboarding experience to join our team in Dallas. The main responsibility for this position will be to recruit and provide support and training to drivers. The person in this position will work in a fast-paced environment and will work closely with the safety and compliance department for Driver Hiring.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the recruitment process for drivers and constantly maintains a pool of prospective candidates.
  • Source, recruit, screen, and interview (phone and in-person) experienced driver candidates via cold calling, e-mail, computer databases, and Internet recruiting resources.
  • Review CDLs, DOT physicals, MVRs and DQ files.
  • Cultivate and sustain a positive culture, quality performance, safe environment, and a positive, professional driver experience.
  • Participate in new driver training, orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Be knowledgeable of local labor market, processes and policies which relate to drivers.
  • Responsible for managing driver performance, route scheduling, equipment maintenance scheduling, and collaborating with all functional groups to meet operational goals.
  • Conduct background checks, perform road tests for drivers and provide them proper training as required.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, client, OSHA, and Department of Transportation regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of all standardized processes for driver background checks, pre-employment medical screening & DOT Physicals.
  • Conduct a periodic internal audit of DOT driver qualification files and records to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for conducting driver performance appraisals, training and developing drivers, enforcing company and customer policies, and disseminating general company news and information.
  • Ensures correct use of, and assists with driver training on, company systems (Qualcomm/Omnitracs, Load Trek, timesheets, etc.) so work performed is accurately represented.
  • Develops local accident and injury prevention plans & programs.
  • Schedules and presents training/orientation programs. Conducts monthly employee/driver safety meetings.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years in safety & driver training.
  • Previous experience in driver training, recruitment and safety & compliance is an asset.
  • Safety driven with expertise in HOS, DOT regulations, and driver welfare.
  • Must have solid understanding of the trucking industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
