Position: Shuttle Lead Driver (Non-CDL)

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
  • Arrive at work on time each scheduled day, in uniform.
  • Carry a valid state‑issued driver’s license while on duty.
  • Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
  • Assist customers courteously; refer them to the Facility Manager if necessary.
  • Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
  • Assist customers with luggage and other items, if applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport).
  • Help the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
  • Direct and maintain shuttle route operation via two‑way radio and in person.
  • Assist drivers with tasks such as wheelchair assistance, pre‑ and post‑trips, and other needs.
  • Assist airport guests with directions, information, and complaints.
  • Ensure shuttle drivers perform duties safely and professionally.
  • Be able to drive a shuttle when required.
  • Multitask and work flexible hours.
  • Report to Dispatch / Shift Supervisor.
Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: Perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience

Required:

Less than high school education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.

License Requirement: Maintain a valid state driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record.

DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements may vary by location. Availability for 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.

Language

Skills:

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information one‑on‑one to customers and employees.

Mathematical

Skills:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit and larger numbers using units of American money.

Appearance: Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear full uniform at all times.

Physical Demands: Regularly stand, walk, handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb, or balance; occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $19.00 per hour

Benefits: Eligible employees participate in medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, long/short‑term disability, life insurance, accident insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
