Position
Job Title: Carrier Sales Executive
Job Type: Full-time;
Onsite
- Drive daily and weekly load count, revenue and margin goals for our client’s company.
- Strategically match, negotiate, and book carriers with available freight.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to maximize profits and develop long‑term solutions.
- Develop current carrier base for consistent lane specific volumes.
- Verify all carriers go through the RMIS process to confirm they are qualified to haul for our client’s company.
- Establish and maintain carrier relationships for future capacity opportunities.
- Clarify load requirements with carriers, confirming drivers have proper information to pick‑up/deliver.
- Meet departmental and personal profit margin goals.
- Maintain carrier satisfaction and provide high quality service and work ethic while representing our client’s company.
- Manage order entry and create orders for customers through systems, phone, and email as needed.
- Follow customer SOPs during the booking and dispatching process.
- Ensure all shipments are tracked according to company policy and quickly resolve problems that arise while load is in transit.
- Provide any required reporting to management.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgement with respect to handling difficult situations and provide timely escalation and/or feedback to direct supervisor regarding service failures, customer complaints, or any other matters requiring attention.
- Maintain and monitor service levels provided to customers as required.
- Promote brand awareness within current/existing carrier partners.
- Follow Accessorial Approval Processes when requesting accessorials.
- Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned, based on business need.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, logistics, supply chain or related field preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years demonstrated broker experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel and Word). Working knowledge of McLeod preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships at all levels of a business (internally and externally).
- Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- High customer service orientation.
- Team player with proven ability to excel in a team‑based environment.
- Possess a sense of urgency, flexibility and assertiveness.
- Ability to multitask, plan/prioritize and execute in a timely manner.
- Ability to handle a fast‑paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Quick learner with ability to receive and give clear instructions.
- Demonstrates high level of professionalism, critical thinking and judgment to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
