Hydrovac Operator, CDL/DOT Driver
Responsible for driving and maintaining DOT vehicle, picking up and delivering loads, moving equipment, and performing other driving needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Safely operate and maintain DOT-regulated equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Identify and report vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Maintain required DOT licenses, medical certifications, endorsements.
- Abide by road limitations, Hours of Service Rules, weight restrictions.
- Keep Electronic Logging Device records for Hours of Service.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and certifications are up to date and in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, spills, or emergencies.
- Class A or B CDL with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements.
- Valid CDL Medical Certification.
- Clean Clearinghouse status.
- Experience as a truck operator.
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and on-call.
- Capable of lifting 80 lbs and performing daily physical activity.
- Willing to travel long distances.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report with no major violations.
- Proficiency in safety protocols on and off the jobsite.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and equipment operation ordinances.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency with tablets for reporting driving hours (ELD).
- Understanding of DOT regulations, especially hazardous materials (Hazmat).
Regular use of hands, reaching, speaking, and hearing. May sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requires long periods of driving and sitting. Must lift up to 80 lbs and walk up to 1 mile daily. Work in various weather conditions.
Travel & Hours- Extensive travel, including long-distance driving.
- Flexible with working hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call.
Drug testing is required for employment.
