Position Overview

We’re looking for a resourceful, hands‑on Shop Manager with strong technical expertise and a builder‑oriented mindset to lead maintenance operations in Dallas, TX and support future fleet growth beyond the market. This role owns the full maintenance lifecycle, from facility setup and operational buildout to daily shop operations, fleet uptime, and continuous improvement. You will build scalable maintenance operations from the ground up, develop high‑performing technician teams, drive fleet reliability and readiness, manage vendors and maintenance KPIs, and establish best‑in‑class EV fleet operations focused on safety, compliance, efficiency, and vehicle availability.

This role is critical to ensuring our fleet remains safe, operational, and ready to support day‑to‑day transportation operations.

What Makes You Successful in This Role

At first, you’re a hands‑on builder who thrives in the ambiguity of building and scaling maintenance operations from zero to one. You take ownership of fleet uptime, operational readiness, and reliability while balancing speed, safety, compliance, and quality standards. You bring deep technical fluency across EV platforms, high‑voltage systems, diagnostics, charging infrastructure, and modern fleet operations. You’re equally comfortable turning a wrench, troubleshooting operational inefficiencies, reviewing KPIs, or communicating fleet readiness metrics to leadership.

You are a data‑driven operator and strong problem solver who builds scalable systems, drives accountability, and performs well in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments. You build strong teams, develop technicians, and lead from the front while maintaining tight control over vendors, tools, documentation, and fleet maintenance operations.

  • Establish operational discipline across the shop through clear accountability, performance expectations, maintenance workflows, escalation paths, and technician standards that create a high‑performing, execution‑focused culture.
Lead Fleet Readiness & Maintenance Operations
  • Own overall fleet uptime, operational readiness, and maintenance execution across Alto’s EV fleet, balancing operational urgency with safety, repair quality, compliance, and long‑term vehicle reliability.
  • Utilize fleet systems, telematics platforms, maintenance software, and operational KPIs to reduce downtime, improve repair turnaround times, optimize scheduling workflows, and proactively identify fleet performance trends.
