Delivery Center Lead
As a Delivery Center Lead, you will support the management of a team of delivery drivers, oversee daily operations, and ensure timely deliveries. You will act as a key operational leader by monitoring performance, maintaining vehicle standards, conducting training, and stepping in to drive routes as needed. Flexibility is critical, as responsibilities may vary depending on business needs.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Delivery Center Supervisor in managing and supporting delivery drivers.
- Support communication regarding personnel issues, incidents, or operational challenges.
- Perform delivery duties as needed, serving as backup to the Shipping Center Supervisor.
- Report emergencies, accidents, or unsafe acts that may disrupt service.
- Conduct daily huddles to communicate expectations and priorities.
- Observe the loading process and validate piece counts before drivers depart.
- Monitor driver performance and adjust operations to ensure customer commitments are met.
- Reconcile daily receipts and inventory; ensure KPIs and company standards are achieved.
- Conduct ride-alongs, on-road observations, and deliver training on policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of all vehicles.
- Drive delivery routes when drivers are unavailable or as needed.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Must be DOT compliant or willing to become compliant.
- 1-2 years of experience managing teams and leading employee performance.
- Experience in the transportation industry, preferably in final-mile delivery.
- Strong adaptability to changing business and environmental conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass drug testing and background screening.
- Physically able to reach, bend, lift, pull, and push up to 75 lbs.
