SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring the proper and timely movement of air freight and information, while complying with any internal and external requirements. In addition, developing and maintaining relationships with carriers, customers, and warehouses to guarantee the timely delivery of shipments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Support: Track ETAs, nominate masters, arrange the transfer of goods from the airport to designated warehouses—coordinating with vendors and ensuring all required documentation is accurately prepared and submitted. Oversee the timely and accurate processing of terminal fees, maintaining detailed payment records.
- Freight Transfers: Manage the import process for smaller accounts and freehand shipments, ensuring timely and efficient handling from shipment clearances to final delivery. Duties include sending arrival notices, coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to track shipments and resolve issues. Maintain accurate documentation and update relevant systems to reflect shipment status.
- Dispatching: Oversee dispatch of goods from warehouses to final destinations. Coordinate with internal teams, truckers, or third-party logistics to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Customer Service: Maintain regular communication with customers regarding their air shipments, providing timely updates on shipment status and proactively addressing any concerns. Escalate critical issues promptly to management and work to deliver solutions that minimize impact on customer satisfaction.
- Billing:
Prepare and process invoices for air import shipments, ensuring charges (freight, terminal, handling, etc.) are accurate. Ensure billing information aligns with shipment records for month-end closures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of Air Import (Freight forwarding) experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills via phone and email
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
