Einride Logistics Inc. is a transportation company operating as a federally regulated motor carrier across multiple states, running a mixed fleet of conventional diesel and battery-electric commercial vehicles. We are hiring our first dedicated Environmental Health & Safety leader to own the safety and regulatory compliance program end to end.

This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's. You will own DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver and fleet safety, and environmental compliance for the entire operation — writing the policies, standing up the systems, training the people, and answering for the numbers. You will be the company's subject-matter authority in front of regulators, auditors, insurers, and customers, and a visible safety partner to drivers and terminal teams in the field.

DOT & FMCSA Regulatory Compliance

• Own the DOT compliance program across all operating authorities and states, ensuring adherence to 49 CFR Parts 380–399 and maintaining audit-ready records at all times.
• Manage driver qualification vendor and supplier end to end — MVRs, medical certificates, road tests, employment verifications, and annual reviews of driving records — including the annual MVR review required under Part 391.
• Administer Hours of Service compliance
  , including ELD program management, log auditing, exception review, and coaching on false-log and form-and-manner violations.
• Run the DOT drug and alcohol testing program supplier / vendor under 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 382: pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty testing; serve as the company's Designated Employer Representative (DER).
• Manage FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse obligations
  , including full pre-employment queries, annual limited queries for every driver, and timely reporting of violations and return-to-duty information.
• Monitor and improve CSA/SMS performance across all compliance categories — Unsafe Driving, Crash Indicator, Hours of Service, Vehicle Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance (Driver-Observed), Driver Fitness, and HM — using roadside inspection data to target intervention before FMCSA does.
• Oversee vehicle compliance records
  , including annual inspections, DVIRs, preventive maintenance documentation, and out-of-service violation follow-up in partnership with Fleet Maintenance.

Fleet Safety & Driver Training

• Design and run the driver safety program
  , from new-hire onboarding and entry-level driver training (ELDT) through ongoing professional development.
• Own the telematics and camera program — set event thresholds, review footage, and build a coaching workflow that changes behavior rather than simply generating reports.
