Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. Manage inventory stock levels, perform audits, and submit orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. Maintain information systems and process core and warranty returns according to Company requirements. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime;
it requires full-time attendance.
- Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair.
- Observe all Company safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Mentor and train other shop personnel.
- Ensure compliance of safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards.
- Retain and ship parts per the Company’s Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures.
- Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records and filing.
- Maintain JBHT information systems regarding parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage.
- Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment to determine usability and replacement of non-functional equipment.
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventories as required.
- Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered and free of damage; stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems.
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; up to 12 to 18 months of direct experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Ability to multitask; work both independently and as part of a team; basic deductive reasoning skills; experience in a fast-paced environment; proficient active listening, organizational, and time-management skills; self-motivation; ability to fulfill physical requirements including lifting above 50 lbs., bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling; wearing appropriate PPE; exercise discretion; make time-sensitive decisions.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans.
