The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead oversees associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Training Responsibilities- Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities to meet customer demands.
- Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
- Assist with forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
- Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking, and picking and staging of outbound shipments to achieve maximum productivity.
- Verify all inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counts.
- Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers, following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Investigate discrepancies that may arise in shipping and receiving processes.
- Conduct professional appearance and communication at all times.
- Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management.
- Use appropriate documentation to ensure all product and orders are received, shipped, and picked correctly.
- Verify compliance with quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, and handle packaging and labeling.
- Follow SOPs for all quality control functions.
- Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager and participate in quality meetings.
- Understand and comply with ISO standards that impact this position.
- Execute all safety protocols and promote safety in job tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and assist in security.
- Follow SOPs, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Direct warehouse work team operations to meet prescribed objectives.
- Assist associates and temporary labor with productivity sheets and accurate payroll capture.
- Assist Supervisor in maintaining a productive workforce and establishing work schedules.
- Ensure proper job assignment and completion.
- Ensure associates handle products according to all quality procedures and guidelines.
- Take action to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, and quality systems, record problems, and recommend solutions.
- Immediately report all non-conformities to the Quality Department.
- Operate equipment such as sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, aisle masters, and pallet jacks.
- Maintain equipment, perform daily inspections, and report problems.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.
- Maintain an active forklift certification.
- Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, filing, and record keeping as directed by site management.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
- Work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
- Completion of a forklift training program.
- Basic computer skills.
- Use of RF scanners.
- WMS functions.
- Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timely task completion.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability to change and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
