Inventory Clerk
Pull and issue material from company inventory to support product builds, engineering efforts, and manufacturing processes. Stock up material from incoming inspection, WIP close out, and customer returns. Maintain accurate inventory records by entering material movement in the computer system and/or scanner. Investigate and identify inventory discrepancies.
Significant Responsibilities- Accepts, sorts, and places raw materials into warehouse stock, ensuring proper count, identification, and placement.
- Ensures all documentation is accurate, in order, and processed timely.
- Ensures all packages and stock are labeled correctly.
- Performs cycle counts and records and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
- Works with planning to ensure that material is moved in a timely manner, enabling production to meet customer demands.
- Reads work orders or inventory requisition forms to determine inventory adjustments.
- Uses computer or scanner to add and remove material from inventory and assign locations to finished goods inventory.
- Keeps inventory accurate and neat; consolidates inventory where possible and works with supervisor to efficiently allocate space.
- Uses computer to choose inventory to fill stock orders.
- Prepares stock room and all other inventory for quarterly and yearly physical inventory counts.
- Utilizes and follows quality policy and operating procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of the job being performed.
- Conducts all activities in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines.
- Works as a team member to organize and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Communicates with other departments daily to solve problems.
- Uses good judgment to minimize mistakes of inaccurate inventory levels.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a minimum of 1 year of inventory experience.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Demonstrate good analytical and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication. Organize, prioritize, complete tasks, and manage time. Work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑starter. Work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Pay close attention to detail and accuracy. Strong math and handwriting skills. Read and understand work orders, pick lists, sales orders, and bills of material.
Follow quality procedures and solve problems.
The employee regularly stands, is ambulatory, and lifts or moves up to 35 lbs. Requires vision, hearing, and reading comprehension to use a computer. Noise level is moderate. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles may occur. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with a disability to perform the essential functions.
