Role Overview
Petco is seeking a Warehouse Associate responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of merchandise for shipment to PETCO stores. The role includes receiving, moving, and stocking warehouse goods.
Key Responsibilities- Operate forklift equipment, including pallet jacks, stand‑up lifts, and turret trucks.
- Repetitively lift merchandise up to 50 pounds.
- Use a handheld computer to scan merchandise barcodes.
- Operate a computerized pick‑module.
- Demonstrate ability to handle heavy lifting, operating forklifts, and using handheld and computerized equipment consistently and safely.
- Adhere to all safety protocols in a high‑activity warehouse setting.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through scanning and data entry.
The position generally does not supervise other employees, but may be asked to provide functional guidance to coworkers and assist with functional tasks as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis role requires frequent bending, carrying, lifting (often more than 50 pounds), and climbing. Workers are exposed to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes, and noise. While most work is performed indoors, occasional outdoor activities may occur. The position is safety‑sensitive and requires drug testing.
QualificationsApplicant must have background and experience demonstrating the ability to operate forklift equipment, lift heavy loads, use handheld barcode scanners, and operate computerized pick‑modules. Good physical fitness and the ability to work under safety‑sensitive conditions are required.
