As a Forklift Driver at Van’s Kitchen, you play a vital role in supporting the flow of materials throughout our warehouse, freezer, dock, and production areas. Your skill in safely operating forklifts and handling inventory ensures efficient operations, accurate fulfillment, and alignment with our standards for safety, quality, and excellence.

Compensation
: $18.00 - $19.00 / hour
- Safely operate equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks and scissor lifts.
- Help maintain a safe and clean work environment throughout the facility.
- Label, sort and relocate items within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory using a scanning system and proper bin allocation.
- Communicate with the warehouse clerk to manage and prioritize the shipping schedule regarding inbound and outbound items.
- Follow and ensure the proper use of tablets and scanners for all warehouse operations.
- Document material usage in detailed information.
- Ensure the warehouse clerk correctly documents items in the “Receiving Log” – correct unit of measurement, LOT#, vendor, inspections etc.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages or quality deficiencies of materials.
- Conduct complete inventory counts as needed upon supervisor request. In the absence of a forklift driver, another operator will cover the responsibilities if needed.
- Check freezer and cooler units to ensure all equipment is working efficiently and report any unusual signs.
- Walk inside the freezers, coolers and warehouse areas to verify that everything is clean and organized with its respective label.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Forklift certification
- RF scanner experience
- Ability to read and write clearly
- Prior forklift experience is necessary.
- Prior experience in warehousing or manufacturing is helpful.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multi‑task well.
- Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Dock/Warehouse environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for virtually the entire shift.
- Occasionally required to balance or climb.
- Must be willing to work in cold, wet, hot and humid environments.
- Must be able to operate in cold temperatures between
-10 and 20 degrees. - Frequently exposed to airborne particles.
