Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid reporting to the Director of Financial Aid. Responsibilities include managing the on site staff along with handling all system related issues with Ellucian, set up aid year, dealing with confidential or sensitive information and process ISIRS. Activities and decisions are varied in nature. Requires solving both common and unusual problems. This position will consult with supervisor is consulted for clarification of policies only where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Runs daily and weekly reports for institutional aid and federal aid: application, eligibility, verification, origination, disbursement, and timely release and request of federal funds.
  • Performs technical support for the financial aid systems including the financial aid application and correction record load process; transmission of application, Pell Grant origination/disbursement and the transfer monitoring process. Manage the ongoing testing of programs, processes and data in Banner and other financial aid systems.
  • Manage daily production schedule of system jobs and workflow; and managing the application, awarding and disbursement of federal, state and institutional financial aid funds.
  • Works collaboratively with staff and faculty to educate, improve and complete financial aid and related enrollment and retention services.
  • Oversees the financial aid application record load system, batch processing, letter generation and awarding of student financial aid.
  • Manages system for monitoring financial aid to meet federal satisfactory academic progress standards and system for monitoring resources to meet federal, state and institutional policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student financial information as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Assists the Director to ensure that AMSC has exception-free financial aid audits and program reviews by keeping abreast of and implementing all federal and state laws and regulations that pertain to the programs administered by financial aid.
  • Recommends and participates in the development of financial aid policies and procedures; may serve on AMSC planning and policy-making committees.
  • Other duties assigned.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor s Degree

Required Experience
Minimum of four (4) years

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years in higher education administration with at least 4 years in financial aid administration.

Salary

Proposed Salary: $66,000 - $71,500/annual
